Job Description

The work involves VHDL development of features for protection functionality and interfacing with the customers protection system. The development is done with Xilinx FPGA tools (Vivado) and stored in Git. The work includes performance and robustness improvements of the gigabit optical communication link between systems and verification of the protection functionality. Verification in this case both in simulation and python scripting on the FPGA. The points above include contributions to the customers FPGA framework development in terms of VHDL code, automation, scripting.
Deliverables include:
- Design, verification and code in customer repository
- Documentation in customer systems including Jira, Confluence, and Chess
- Monthly progress report

Requirements

Must Have:
• Bachelor’s degree in degree or equivalent in engineering, technology or science
• 6+ years of experience VHDL development on Xilinx FPGA
• 5+ years of signal processing experience
• 3+ years of test automation and/or script development
• 3+ years of experience with AXI4
• 3+ years of experience with PCIe
• Experience working with configuration management tools, source code management tools and version control systems (preferably git)
• Excellent oral and written English skills

Good to have:
• Master’s degree or equivalent in engineering, technology or science
• Experience from complex, international technical/scientific projects
• Previous experience from “big science” projects is an advantage
• Experience from collaborative electronic tools such as Jira
• Experience from development on proton beam instrumentation
• Experience with MTCA based fast data acquisition platforms
• Experience of working in an international environment
