Our customer’s is German Automotive
OEM and role is in software division of large German OEM. Their mission is to
make the automotive experience safer, more sustainable, more comfortable, more
digital, and more fun. Soon, well be a team of more than 5,000 software
developers and engineers, building the leading tech stack for the automotive
industry and creating a unified software platform for over 10 million new
vehicles per year.

customer’s OEM Group brands that will transform mobility.
You will be working in a team
who develop the standardized cockpit electronics and software system for future
vehicle E/E architectures. The team will provide the base for the Infotainment
Platform enabling a rich, simple and comfortable infotainment and digital
customer experience across all Customer’s Group brands.
The System Base team is a
group of experts and technology enthusiasts located in the Architecture
Development Area at our customers software division. With deep system knowledge
and technological skill, the team work on projects from the first minute until
the product goes to production. The team is responsible for a broad field of
base functions like Operating Systems (Linux, AUTOSAR, Android, QNX),
Performance, Stability, Power Management, Virtualization, Tracing and Logging
of the Cockpit Infotainment System. We
design, develop, manage system and software requirements together with our
partners and suppliers.
- Lead Infotainment enabler function, e.g. User
Management, Personalization
- Responsibility as Product Owner: Specify requirements, manage the SW
suppliers, test and optimize the functions
- Test, modify and optimize software deliveries with focus on Performance
(Startup/Shutdown/Runtime) and memory footprint and do proactive deep system
analysis (Kernel tracing, etc.)
- Develop tools, write scripts to automate the analysis
- Specify and align system technology requirements, assess and consolidate
available solutions and alternatives, standards and best-practices across Group
Brands
- Work closely with Operations Engineering, Software teams across company
boarders in supporting infotainment systems optimization and project
implementation
- Evaluate alternatives for technical implementations in the case of
technical changes or conflict of objectives together with the team
- Assess system hardware and software implementation in terms of system
requirement specifications, change requests, system function and system
integration
Requirements – Must
list (short, and real must, no order)
- A degree of Bachelor’s in
Engineering or B.Sc in computer science or similar
- 8+ years of experience in
system and/or software development, preferably in the area of instrument
cluster or infotainment systems
- Thorough understanding of
automotive electronics and software development projects including current and
emerging processes and technologies
- Knowledge of functional,
vehicle and control unit architectures and SW platforms, operating systems
(deep knowledge in AUTOSAR, Linux, Android), programming languages (deep
knowledge of C, C++), software technologies in a virtualized system, and
automotive tools (e.g. Vector CANoe)
- In-depth knowledge of
technical interrelationships, processes and supplier management and experience
in working with agile methods
- Process-know how within ASPIC
and agile development methods
- Understanding for technically
complex content as well as its risks and potential impacts on development
efforts and the resulting scheduling track
- Fluent written and
verbal communication skills in English
Good to have
- A degree of M.Sc in computer
science or similar
- Programming knowledge of Java beneficial
- Communication skills in German
